If you read one review on Ortmann Concrete, this should be it! I cannot say enough about the Ortmann crew. I have used them probably 5x, for patios, sidewalks, driveways, staircases, and their beautiful Bellattex countertops. Let me give you an example of the difference and why I keep going back to Ortmann versus other contractors. In my recent project, the brick and stone contractor left my yard a complete disaster (see the pic collage). When I asked the brick and stone guy about them cleaning up their mess, he responded, “read the contract we don’t clean anything up.” Realize they not only left construction waste but also general trash everywhere. When Doug Ortmann showed up, my wife, myself, and even our little girls were all out there overwhelmed trying to clean up and carry all the heavy construction waste to a dumpster. He looked at the site and said, “No contractor should do this to a family, I am calling my crew out right now to clean this up.” When the Ortmann crew left my home not only did they clean up the site, but the job was spectacular. The Ortmann crew is a small family-owned business and due to their great work, their services are in very high demand. Thus, you may have to wait a little longer sometimes, but they are worth the wait.

Ortmann Concrete built a large retaining wall and a patio that transformed our backyard from something that was unusable to a great play area for our kids. While we had a basic idea of what we wanted they were very helpful in helping us design the area and see what worked best. They were very responsive through the whole process and showed up when they said they would. The crews were always very nice and they did great work. They even came out after everything was done to add a few more blocks to a wall when they didn’t have to. Would highly recommend for both retaining wall and concrete work.

Our original driveway was crumbling to pieces. We put off the replacement for a long time thinking that a new driveway was not where we wanted to put our money. Now that we have our new driveway (and sidewalk and steps) from Ortmann Concrete, I cannot believe how much a difference it has made. We feel like it has added value to our house and is an investment we should have done earlier. We actually had to do some landscaping to make our yard look as good as our driveway.

Hands down one of the best, most customer centric companies I’ve ever dealt with! I’ll recommend them to everyone I know and then some! In late April we decided to use them to build a patio for us that is 14 ft by 65 ft. Due to all the rain that we’ve had this spring it took a little while for them to be able to get started through no fault of their own. They arrived at our house on a Wednesday morning and today (Thursday) I have a patio. These guys arrived and the owner Doug accompanied them and made sure that everything we wanted was clearly understood and that his crew was well briefed. I’ll get to my incredible love and respect for his crew in a moment, immediately the crew started work and my horribly unlevel mud pit of a yard suddenly within about six hours became a level well defined area for my patio to be poured on today. I can’t even begin to describe the machine like precision in which these guys work, it’s surreal…

From the time you meet Doug Ortmann, you know you are dealing with someone that is detail oriented. They received a straight “A” rating from us for all the reasons listed on the report card (price, quality, responsiveness, etc.). The concrete work force knows what they’re doing, and Doug always oversees the project and has hands on. The other huge plus is the knowledgeable office work force. They are a wealth of info about payments, schedules, getting answers etc. We were so impressed with Ortmann that we are having them install new steps, patio, walkway, and double driveway, on a rental property we own, a project we have been pushing off until now. We would highly recommend Ortmann and would suggest at least calling if you need cement work.

We had Ortmann replace a front porch on our house. The original porch was almost 50 years old, had several cracks and was shifting in a few places. The Ortmann team came in and demolished/removed the old porch and sidewalk in one day, then poured the new concrete the next day. Wow, beautiful work!
